Your Health and Wellness Journey Begins with Self-Love
Self-Love is Key
A lot of people believe that self-love will begin when they have accomplished their health and wellness goals. Whether you want to drop 50 pounds or tone certain areas of your body, it all starts by loving yourself unconditionally.
Just because you may say or think “I’ll love my body once I’m smaller” or “I’ll love my body once my skin is clear,” the truth is – loving yourself begins now. If you wait to love yourself after you accomplish your health and wellness goals, you will never learn to love yourself properly. So, I recommend you start today! It’s important to love yourself no matter your size, but also love yourself during the process of improving you.
How did I come to this realization?
A year before starting the Thick, Bold and Healthy movement, I was in a deep depression. I would work out every morning at 6 AM, do my best to eat healthy an didn’t drop a single pound. As I slowly began to overcome depression and suicidal thoughts, I realized I needed to get my health back on track. Although I exercised and ate healthy most days; stress, anxiety, and depression had a tremendous effect on my body. I had to stop worrying about the number on the scale and learn how to properly get back to me!
So I asked myself – Farah, what do you want for your life? And what do you want for your health? By asking myself these two simple questions, I was able to break free. I began to write down my dreams and aspirations as it pertained to health and wellness. As a result, I came to the realization that my journey had to begin with unconditional self-love. I had to teach myself to love me, especially on my good days and bad days. Once, I began to feel confident and secure that’s when I started to see improvements in my health.
Are you up for the challenge?
I really encourage each and every one of you to love yourself unconditionally throughout your health and wellness journey. When you begin to build an unconditional love for yourself and challenge yourself to do better, no one will have the power to negatively affect you.
