How to Create A Workout Routine Around Your Schedule!

Working out is crucial in helping to sculpt your physique, burn calories, and improve your overall quality of life. Despite its importance, participating in physical activity also seems elusive. Do we really have time in our day to hike, run, dance, or even walk? With never-ending to-do lists, chilling feels far more appealing than the gym ever could. With more of us falling into health crises due to obesity and sedentary lifestyles, something has to change.* Here are some tips to keep us moving, no matter our schedule!

Steps for Success!

1) Grab a Partner = When starting your fitness journey, it is always important to have others on your team. Your team can be workout partners or family and friends that keep you motivated. Tell them about your goals and listen to them when they push you to go harder! You don’t have to fight alone.

2) Find alternatives = Skip the traditional gym and workout wherever you can! While gym memberships may be your motivating factor, for many, it turns into a burden. Instead of the gym, try working out at home. There are various fitness workouts and plans easily available online through sources like Youtube and Pinterest. If you desire to use equipment, simple dumbbells, resistance bands, and plyo boxes can easily be obtained online or in-store. If home isn’t a good option, try alternative locations like your job. Walk around during breaks. Ride your bicycle to work. Climb the stairwell to your office. The options are endless!

3) Celebrate Small Victories = Often, when starting our journeys, we set huge goals. We may want to lose 50+ pounds, rid ourselves of diseases, or even run a 10K! Though these goals are awesome, setting smaller milestones may help you stay motivated. Did you take the stairs instead of the elevator? Celebrate! Did you workout 3x out of the week? Celebrate! Did you follow through with meal prep? Celebrate! As you acknowledge those numerous wins, you will be more motivated to go bigger. See yourself as the victor you are, one step at a time.
